Neuroscience and the Environment in Psychophysical Development

In recent decades, neuroscience has made significant advances in understanding the human brain and its development, revealing the critical importance of the environment in which we grow and develop.

These discoveries highlight the importance of providing children and young people with a rich environment full of positive stimuli, where play and exploration are encouraged. Such an environment not only contributes to the holistic development of individuals but also has preventive effects on society as a whole. For example, it has been shown that access to recreational and sports activities significantly reduces rates of domestic violence, addiction, and other social problems, by offering constructive and healthy alternatives for channeling energy and emotions.

Placemaking and Citizen Well-being

The concept of placemaking is a proposal that emphasizes designing public spaces that promote the well-being of city inhabitants. It is a philosophy that recognizes the importance of citizen participation in creating environments that reflect the needs and desires of the community. In the context of public parks, placemaking involves designing spaces that are not only functional but also attractive, inclusive, and capable of generating a sense of belonging and community pride.
